Adding funds to your balance
Updated 2 min read
Short version: click Add funds, enter an amount, pay by card, and the money lands on your balance. The balance never expires. You then pay for orders from it. Crypto and PayPal are coming soon.
Step by step
- Confirm your email first. Try before you have, and the page shows Confirm your email address with a Resend button.
- Click Add funds in the top bar, next to your balance. On a phone it's in the account menu, and it's also under Billing.
- Enter an Amount, or tap one of the common amounts.
- Under Payment method, choose Credit or debit card. Saved cards show up here too. Card is the only way to pay today; crypto and PayPal are coming soon.
- Click Deposit and complete the payment.
After you pay
The deposit page tracks it through Deposit created, Payment, Confirmed by the provider and Funds in your balance. Card payments usually clear straight away.
Paid but the page still says Almost done? Click I have paid — check now. Still stuck? See My top-up hasn't arrived.
Where to see your money
Billing shows your Account balance and a Transactions table: every top-up and every order, with the balance after each line. Deposits lists your top-ups, and Invoices has your invoices: see Invoices and billing details.
A card payment held for a check can show as pending for a while.
Never run dry: automatic deposits
Under Billing, Payment methods, you can turn on Refill my balance automatically: pick the level your balance shouldn't drop below and how much to add. It charges a saved card. Handy if your ISP or datacenter IPs renew on their own.
Good to know
- The balance never expires. Come back in a year and it's still there.
- Unused money from a top-up in the last 7 days can be refunded, to your balance (quick) or to your original payment method (takes longer): see Refunds: getting unused money back.
